Akio Character Concept

AKIO RAION

So I'm going with a young Chris Hemsworth as a visual representation for what Akio looks like.  And I wish I could find the artist for this little gem of an anime representation for Akio but I've scoured the internet and can't find them even after google searching the actual image. Mr. Hemsworth with his longer blond definitely reminds me of a lion so his rugged good looks weren't the only reason I picked him ;)   Finding a visual match for how I picture the character in my head honestly helps me with consistant character discriptions.

Akio is a 2nd year High School Student at Sapporo International Senior High School.  He is an Extraterrstrial to the planet Earth, but does not know what planet he originally comes from.  He is the alpha of his pride,which puts him in charge of all the Nekoka in the city of Sapporo.  He tries very hard to be a good leader and takes his role seriously.  He is very passionate about karate and uses it as a means to find peace and balance in his chaotic life.  The discipline and control it gives helps him keep a cool level head.  He finds being a the top lonely and isolated as he even has to be careful with what information he shares with his pride.  He's desperate to find answers about he he really is and where his people are from but he knows it's more important to keep his pride brothers safe and alive.

  

I Just Want to Finish Writing One Book

So I'm trying something new in writing. I always have trouble getting past chapter two because I obsess on having it perfect. And sometimes I get stuck on a part I just don't want to write. I'll have all the good parts planned out and want to get to writing them but I have to write the inbetween part first to keep the story moving. So now when I reach a paticulary sticky part that I just can't be satisfied with I'm just going to barrel through, write it out, and post it on Wattpad anyway. This experiment could churn out really crappy writing so I apologize in advance but I'm determined to finish at least one book in my life time. I'm keeping my expectations low so not to be disappointed but I hope everyone loves it all the same. So far it's been a lot of fun to write. Currently I'm working on a manga-esque japanese style book that has the potential for being a series.

It's titled The Raion, In the Series(hopeful/wishful thinking) of Children of the Nekoka.

Raion is Japanese for Lion and Nekoka is Japanese for Panthera, which is the genus of Felines that includes tigers, lions, jaguars and lepords. And just for a little background knowledge Neko is the japanese word for cat and is also a reference to japanese fiction that involves stories dealing with cats including the whole half-cat/half-human thing. Bizarre to some...or many...but it's actually quite a popular plotline, believe me the fan art is plentiful. Though I'm not sure I can do the idea justice.


In this book I am writing the story of Raion Akio. He is one of the Nekoka, an alien race that had crashed on Earth seventeen years ago. His generation is the last and they are facing extinction. Finding a way to survive will soon be critical. Having been raised almost entirely by humans he has no idea who he really is or where he had come from and is at a loss of where to start. The powers at be seemed to blocked him at every turn and someone has just put his pride brothers in the line of fire. He was no longer certain of who they could trust. And whether he liked it or not, they have been pulled into a dangerous game where they would have to win at all costs. But when Akio unknowingly stumbles across the key to their survival will he be able to pay the price to protect it from their hidden enemy

Right now outside of work, I pretty much live and breathe this story in my determination to write the whole thing. Hopefully it will be worth reading.
